The technology behind our cores

Every XWD Tech core is built around an uncooled vanadium oxide (VOx) microbolometer on a 12µm pixel platform, optimised for the 8–14µm long-wave infrared band.

VOx detector

Vanadium oxide microbolometers deliver low NETD without a cryocooler, reducing size, power and cost for integration.

12µm pixel pitch

A small pixel pitch enables compact optics while preserving spatial resolution across the 640×512 array.

LWIR 8–14µm

The long-wave band suits passive thermal imaging of room-temperature scenes in industrial and outdoor environments.

NETD ≤40 mK

Thermal sensitivity down to 40 mK reveals small temperature differences for inspection and measurement.

Shutter calibration + AGC

Automatic shutter calibration and histogram AGC keep the image stable across scene temperature changes.

Uncooled packaging

Compact module packaging suits handheld, fixed and airborne integration.

Why it matters

Built for your product line

A shared detector platform means resolution, sensitivity and interface behaviour stay consistent across models. You choose the output, optics and form factor without re-qualifying the core imaging technology.
